Dearest Arloid,

Gather breath before continuing.

I'm rarely alive - let alone awake - at 8am of a morning, but today I was, and awoke to find my postman (UK/US trans. - "mailman, like, totally") brandishing a delicious orange Jiffy envelope addressed to me. Like some buried treasure-style relic, your new album was inside. God Bless that Kim at DoseTo Records. I'm sure you're probably on tour / injured / 4-tracking as you read this, so I'll try and limit my thoughts to 3 or 4 succinct paragraphs of nonsense.

In a nutshell, it's a vast improvement on the last one, more epic and sweeping, and more of a complete piece than "This Is The Way.." which in retrospect seems perhaps more a body of songs. Parts of it reminded me of My Bloody Valentine, Ver Gazi, Sunny Day, El Hombre Trajeado, and even Can in places, while the elongated mood-rant of "Things Gone..." reminded me of one of David Byrne/Talking Heads's storytelling pieces (eg. "He would see faces in movies, magazines...he thought some of these might be right for him" - that kinda thing). Love those spooky background noises! Personal highlights include "Covered With Herr", "Killing It In A Quiet Way-ay", although my current fave is "1,000 Motors", which I'm currently mixing in with Nightmares On Wax for a student radio show I'm working on. Details to follow, possibly.

As well as the delicious music contained within, my congratulations on whoever was responsible for the packaging. It's great (in a sinister way) that the humorous image of Gabe looking like Jimi Tenor / Joe 90 is juxtaposed with an image of you looking super-discomfortized by the discernibly un-angelic halo that orbits your brainhole, while the cover has a strikingly similar colo(u)r scheme to that of "Con Art". Coincidence? Heh heh.

It says on Southern UK's web-bitch (those disorganized, flippy-floppy, clique-rock scamps!) that Juno is set to crashland on Planet Europe again in the month of Novemboid. There's a bed of silk, a toilet of pristine marble, and a vat of delicious hot water (aka Euro-beer) waiting for you again should you require it, although you may have to make do with a sleeping bag/couch combo this time cos we've a whole new houseful of real live bodies.

Also, I have a four-track and am writing techno-waltzes on a Casiotone for an imaginary soundtrack to the musi-biopic of Satan and his tumultuous upbringing (my theory is he was beaten as a child). I'm pitching it to Harmony Korine, Rob Reiner, and Lars Von Trier this weekend! And I've learned how to make sushi.

Anyway, time to get off this textual merry-go-round and let you get back to living your life. Thanks for everything, your record is currently filed inbetween Tool's "Lateralus", Os Mutantes' "Everything Is Possible", and EBN's "Telecommunication Breakdown" in the 'dark experimentation - current listening' portion of my record collection. Can't wait to get spastic to your jagged rhythms when you return to the UK! Rock on, daddy-o!

Have fun on tour, and love and manly wet ones to "the boys".

Yours, punk rock belt on rocking it for the squares,

Allan UKUKUKUK.
